Founder & CEO
"I had the privilege of working closely with Barbara for four years, during which she served as our Marketing Manager of Clean Energy. Over that time, I watched her grow into a pivotal member of our team, and I recommend her enthusiastically for her next role.
Barbara led marketing strategy, campaign implementation, and thought leadership across more than 15 key client accounts, working with companies spanning a wide swath of the clean energy and climate tech industry. She built messaging frameworks and marketing strategies that gave these companies a clear, compelling voice in a crowded and fast-moving industry, and she managed all of this while carrying a heavy account load under real pressure. In every case, Barbara kept projects on track, communicated clearly, followed up reliably, and took full ownership of her deliverables, regardless of how complicated the business context became amid clean energy policy shifts and market uncertainty.
What truly sets Barbara apart, though, is what she did for DG+ itself. Barbara approached our own marketing with the same rigor she brought to any client, and pushed us to stay on track in a way that produced real results. She doubled our social media following, launched our company newsletter, and meaningfully raised our profile within the industry. Our newsletter, case studies, web messaging, and thought leadership all bear her fingerprints, and I don't think that work has gotten the recognition it deserves.
In summary, Barbara combines strategy marketing skill, genuine relationship-building instincts, and a strong work ethic with a level of ownership and care that is rare to find. No matter where she lands next, I am confident she will bring the same passion and results that made her such a valuable part of our team."

Director of Operations
"When hiring or managing, it can be useful to assess on three criteria: value, will, and skill, prioritized in that order. Does this person embody our company's values? Then, do they have the will to do what must be done in the role? Finally, are their skills the ones required for the job?
At POW, Barbara brought the rare combination of all three. There is nothing rote about how Barbara approaches her work. Scheduling, to-do lists, project management — sure, she tackled those, but if Barbara is on your team, she is there because she is living the mission and purpose of your organization. Walking in the door you know that she approaches her role not as a job, but a responsibility.
Fittingly, Barbara started with POW as a volunteer. When the organization needed a group to help around a weekend activation, many responded. However, as is common in organizing, the excitement of the idea didn't match the reality of forgoing a weekend to stand in the snow and solicit strangers around advocacy action. Barbara, however, showed up and would continue to do so for the next five years, becoming the organization's third full-time employee and seeing it grow to 11.
During her years at POW, Barbara wore every hat imaginable: programs, development, marketing, and administrative. Deferring not to, 'What is my title?' rather, putting on a hardhat and with her utilitarian spirit asking, 'What needs to get done?'
Barbara brings a triple threat in her professional skills: writing, speaking, and creating. Her effectiveness in all three is, again, fed by her innate passion for deep, cause-driven efforts. Whether on the phone, stage, or in a meeting, she is magnetic, bringing partners and community closer to the organization.
In writing social media and web copy, RFPs, grant applications, and blogs, Barbara calls on her command of language to finely adjust tone for situation and audience. She is also the person you bring your work to for 'the test' where, in one swoop of edits, she makes your drafts tighter and delayered of fluff.
Furthermore, as a brand lead, Barbara embodies the essence of marketing: know your audience, speak genuinely. Merchandise lines evolved from Barbara's sketches, with her over and over giving form to the current zeitgeist.
I often think back to the moments where, after interacting with Barbara, you left muttering, 'Damn, that's good—energy, creativity, and determination—the best I can do is try and match.'"

Director, Policy & Advocacy
"Working with Barbara for over two years was an incredible opportunity to learn from her as both a peer and mentee. I am constantly impressed by the energy and passion she brings to her work. Her creativity and wit allow her to be successful in brand development and marketing, whether developing a spot-on brand voice or launching and managing a merchandise line from scratch. Her strengths lie in design— from activations to large brand events, and from creative advocacy campaigns to the look and feel of all brand materials and collateral. I most enjoyed brainstorming with Barbara on advocacy campaigns: in my role as a non-profit policy manager, Barbara developed creative ideas for language, imagery, and activations to bring my wonky calls to action to life, drastically increasing engagement. Her passion for activism is unmatched, and her ability to cultivate and foster the relationships she needs to achieve her goals is what sets her apart."

She consistently delivers high-quality work, builds strong client relationships, and moves work forward, even while managing multiple priorities.
Barbara's curiosity, commitment to learning, and ability to turn feedback into meaningful growth truly set her apart. Director of Communications, DG+
"Barbara is a creative, thoughtful marketer and a stellar teammate whom I was fortunate to work with and learn from at DG+. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her background in nonprofit and mission-driven organizations, with a keen ability to tap into an audience's mindset and develop compelling campaigns that speak directly to those she's targeting. Beyond marketing strategy, she is also excellent at building lasting, trusted client relationships and can speak to a wide variety of organizational stakeholders, translating her vision and the impact of her work for everyone to understand.
At DG+, Barbara was a quintessential team player. She was always ready to lend a hand on projects, big or small, and brought an enthusiastic, inquisitive energy to the team. Her willingness to engage with and elevate others' ideas as much as her own made her a gifted collaborator. Any organization looking to level up their marketing strategy would be lucky to have her on their team."

SVP Business Development, Navisun
"Barbara brought a really unique mix of execution-focused and strategic leadership to our work together when I was one of her DG+ clients. From the outset, she took the time to understand both our overall business and marketing goals as well as our proposed strategies — and get her team aligned behind them. At the same time, right from the get-go, she also gave very productive and honest feedback, based on her own experiences — for example, around channels (e.g., social media) and tactics (e.g., website redesign) that we may have missed or needed to emphasize more.
Barbara did a great job jumping in and understanding how to fit in with our team and culture. She also quickly identified and proposed some actionable near-term priorities to help us gain traction and deliver some immediate marketing 'wins' (e.g., a targeted and well executed conference sponsorship that saw immediate results), while also consistently keeping the longer-term plan in mind.
Most importantly, though, Barbara regularly identified, in a productive way, where priorities were starting to drift or where we were in danger of losing focus — and not only flagged them as they arose, but helped give us a sounding board and a space (in both regular weekly meetings and focused sessions) to hash them out and resolve them. That 'bigger picture' focus really made a difference for us, and I'd recommend Barbara highly for a role that is just as much about 'the how' as 'the what.'"

PMP, DSD Renewables
"I had the pleasure of working closely with Barbara at DG+ during my time at DSD. As our primary copywriter and project manager, she impressed me from day one with her strategic thinking, ability to manage multiple projects, and skill in keeping everyone engaged and organized.
As a copywriter, Barbara has an exceptional talent for diving deep into complex topics without hesitation. She approaches challenges with determination and crafts compelling, engaging content that truly resonates with target audiences. The nuances of the energy sector (different markets, utilities, and incentives, etc) make it really challenging to present information in a clear, educational way. However, Barbara excelled at translating complex concepts into impactful messaging that effectively reached potential customers.
Whether it was blog articles, case study revisions, brochures, or other ad hoc content, Barbara's writing was consistently informative, on-brand, and highly effective.
Beyond her writing expertise, she also excelled as a project manager. Barbara kept all our projects on track, coordinating DG+'s internal team, and ensuring that every deliverable met high-quality standards and deadlines. Her exceptional organizational skills and proactive communication made collaboration effortless and productive.
On top of all this, Barbara is simply a joy to work with—extremely humble, positive, and engaging. She brings great energy, insightful stories, and a warm presence to every weekly meeting. I always looked forward to those meetings, not just for the work but also for the opportunity to connect with her and the amazing DG+ team. Their ability to humanize the agency-client relationship truly strengthened our partnership."
“I’d recommend Barbara highly for a role that is just as much about ‘the how’ as ‘the what.’

"Barbara would be a strong asset to any team - she gets things done, she is passionate about her work and is a great team player. Field Marketing Manager
"At New Belgium, I had the pleasure of working with Barbara on several big brand partnerships and activations with Protect Our Winters, and what stood out the most was her deep passion for and commitment to their mission. She was valuable at all levels of planning from big picture to the minutiae, and didn't hesitate to roll up the sleeves and dig into the grunt work of execution. Barbara walked the walk in the most credible way possible, and this seems important in a time when so many people are 'phoning it in' in their work roles. In addition to that commitment and drive, Barbara brought creative vision, an irreverence, and a sense of fun to everything we worked on together. Would not hesitate to partner with her again on another project or have her as a member on my team!"

Owner & Creative Director
"Barbara's enthusiasm, drive, and tenacity are infectious. During many years of collaboration, I watched her build a brand, but more importantly, a community gathered around making strides against the apathy that stymied action on climate change. The network of athletes and creatives she led and managed at Protect Our Winters arrived because they were interested in helping. They stayed and grew as community leaders because of Barbara and who she is."

"I first met Barbara during my own tenure managing marketing at DYNAFIT North America. I was in the midst of searching for non-profit partners and Protect Our Winters (POW) was a natural fit for our ski brand. As senior brand director of POW, Barbara nurtured our relationship every step of the way.
I was first impressed with her intrinsic enthusiasm and passion for her work and the work of POW; I had partnered with and worked at many non-profit organizations and it was a breath of fresh air to interact with an individual that brought energy and much-welcomed humor into every contact we had. This energy was positively infectious: I was in turn enthused and inspired by our new brand partnership and became more dedicated to POW's mission through raising funds and awareness for their mission.
Whether it was working with Barbara on the ground at grass-roots style advocacy events, hearing her speak eloquently and with poise about climate change advocacy in front of large groups of individuals, or watching from afar as she and her colleagues traveled to Capitol Hill to lobby for clean energy practices and advocate for climate solutions to lawmakers, I continued to feel admiration and respect for Barbara professionally and personally.
Barbara's impact from her work at POW is intensely felt in our community, our industry, in educational institutions and on Capitol Hill. Barbara is an absolute professional that brings a rare, personal approach to her work and I would strongly recommend her for any role, particularly those focused on brand management, marketing and advocacy."

Senior Product Line Manager, Smartwool
"During my time as Smartwool's Advocacy Liaison with Protect Our Winters, I had the fortunate opportunity to work with Barbara. We worked together to push forward our shared goal to educate our communities on climate change science, what we can do to effect positive change, and how we can encourage our political leaders to make proper policy decisions for our planet. Working together in this capacity, I was impressed by Barbara's creative ability to ideate and brainstorm new ways of tackling our shared mission, balanced with her openness to partner to turn big picture concepts into tactical plans. I always found a willing collaborator, and as a Brand Partner also appreciated Barbara's efforts to ensure our community understood the power of and reasoning behind our Brands' partnership."

And that's almost as important."
